Eponymous will be sending a few leather pieces down the runway for our SS2012/13 collection at SA Fashion Week. The designers at Hermanna Rush were looking to incorporate some leather onto their runway and the asked us – the leather specialists(!) – to design a few pieces. Here’s the program! Italian designer Gianni Molaro recently sent this creation down the runway during haute couture fashion week Alta Roma. Is this attention seeking? Or an intellectual/conceptual statement? Regardless, he certainly got press as a result.
I was researching fashion illustration techniques today and I love love! this fashion illustration by Paris-based Marguerite Sauvage on www.hongkiat.com. An illustrator, artist and animator she is inspired by both traditional Japanese art and contemporary Japanese culture and here she applies that sensibility to Africa. It’s both wild and serene – which is pretty much spot on for this amazing continent!

We’re enjoying the latest Fashion week feature The Daily Shoe from the NY Times’ T magazine. A single shoe picked daily by the team from a day of shows at the major fashion weeks. This Lanvin beauty actually didn’t make the initial cut – a runner up worth special mention – but we love!
Cape Town Chameleon is a beautiful editorial recently published in Room55, a German magazine. Shot by photographer Franziska Konietzke and styled by Katharina Klug these are such beautiful shots – and spot a pair of Eponymous leather shorts styled with a Missoni bikini and scarf. Gorgeous!
It’s the last day of winter in the Southern hemisphere! While we look forward to months of sundowners, cocktail dresses, bikinis etc. (you get the picture!) our friends up North are buckling down for the cooler months. Have a look at what designers around the world are doing with leather – makes one look forward to winter next year doesn’t it? Ok, almost!
